Maybeck Fall 2020 Art Show
This semester in Methods & Materials, we spent the year examining the idea of commonality of language, and the influence of Western perceptions on the course of Art History as we examined the link between the evolution of social ideas, and the perception of the artist role in society. Students were asked to create work in response to the topics and time periods we learned about.
In Drawing & Painting we spent the year exploring how simple visual elements work together to create an effective composition. Students focused on the use of shifts in value and using 1 and 2 point perspective to create depth in a work. We worked from the imagination, in the abstract, and from observation. For subject matter students used shoes, and other objects and spaces readily available to them.
Please take a moment to appreciate some of the beautiful work they produced this year.
